This month’s City update includes:

Auburn Boulevard Complete Streets — the City marks completion of the long-running corridor improvement project from Sylvan Corners to the Roseville border.

Citrus Nights returns September 18 — Moonshine Crazy, food trucks, and the Chamber’s Beer & Wine Garden return to Van Maren Park.

New Youth Advisory Commission — Citrus Heights students in grades 8–12 can apply for one of 13 seats and provide input on City programs and projects.

Community Blood Drive — the City and Vitalant are hosting a September 15 blood drive at City Hall. Birdcage Heights Event Listing

Temporary sign reminders — the newsletter explains where campaign, event, and other temporary signs may — and may not — be placed.

Free kitchen pails & compost — Republic Services will hold a September 12 giveaway for Citrus Heights residents.

The newsletter also includes upcoming meetings and events, the Mayor’s September message, Neighborhood Clean-Up guidance, and other City updates.

The agenda for the Wednesday, September 9 City Council meeting is now available on BirdcageHeights.com. The regular meeting begins at 6:00 PM at City Hall.

A few items on this week’s agenda:

7555 Old Auburn Road — proposed award of a contract for the tenant improvement project.

Accessibility & Drainage Project — final acceptance and notice of completion for the City’s 2025 project.

Conflict of Interest Code — consideration of the City’s biennial update and amended list of designated positions.

League of California Cities — Council will review the annual conference resolution and provide direction to the City’s voting delegate.

Proclamations — Adult Education & Family Literacy Week, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Firefighter Appreciation Month, and National Forensic Science Week.
