League of California Cities — Council will review the annual conference resolution and provide direction to the City’s voting delegate.
Proclamations — Adult Education & Family Literacy Week, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Firefighter Appreciation Month, and National Forensic Science Week.

The September 2026 Citrus Heights Business Bulletin is now available, with several updates and opportunities for local businesses.
Highlights this month include:
Kayak City recognized as the latest Business of Distinction – Top of Trade recipient.
The Citrus Heights Chamber is launching Citrus Heights Business Watch, focused on business safety, crime prevention, and communication. Informational meetings are scheduled for September 16 and 17, with an online participation option available.
Businesses and residents can provide input on the Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan Update, examining long-term transportation needs between Sacramento and Placer County.
The City is looking for Veteran-owned Citrus Heights businesses to feature in upcoming Veterans Day communications.

New City Manager Message Added to Our City News Page
Hi neighbors — we’ve added the latest message from Citrus Heights City Manager Ashley Feeney to the Birdcage Heights City News page, just below the monthly City newsletter in our usual expandable section format.
This month’s message, “A Message on the City’s Budget in Brief,” offers a look at the City’s Fiscal Year 2026/27 budget and the priorities guiding how resources are being invested.
Among the topics highlighted are:
Budget in Brief — a new overview of the City’s budget, financial priorities, and long-term planning approach.
Infrastructure Investment — the City continues its annual $4 million General Fund investment in infrastructure, while also pursuing grant funding to extend local dollars.
Public Safety & Essential Services — the message discusses maintaining support for core city services while preserving healthy reserve levels and long-term financial flexibility.
Looking Ahead — residents are also invited to the State of the City on November 5, where the City plans to review accomplishments from 2026 and look ahead to future opportunities.
