Hi neighbors — the City of Citrus Heights June 2026 newsletter has been refreshed on the Birdcage Heights City News page.
This month’s update includes several community events, city programs, and local announcements, including:
🚶 Arcade-Cripple Creek Trail Extension Meeting — updates on the planned Sylvan-to-Stock Ranch trail extension, including environmental review, trail design features, crossings, and lighting.
🍦 City Scoop Summer Series — free ice cream, neighborhood connection, and city updates beginning June 17 at Tempo Park, with a second event scheduled for July 15 at Sylvan Middle School.
🎓 Youth Advisory Commission Applications — Citrus Heights students in grades 8–12 can apply to serve on the City’s new Youth Advisory Commission.
🎆 Stars & Stripes Celebration — Citrus Heights will celebrate America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Van Maren Park with live entertainment, family activities, food, and fireworks.
🏘️ Mayor’s June Message — this month’s message focuses on neighborhood engagement, community connection, and the role neighbors play in building a safer city.
🏆 APWA Recognition — General Services Director Regina Cave has been named one of APWA’s 2026 Top Ten Public Works Leaders of the Year.
🛣️ Pavement Restoration Reminder — residents are reminded to respect posted road closures around freshly slurry-sealed streets so road work can cure properly and stay on schedule.
🎨 Art in City Hall 2026 — local artists are invited to submit work for the upcoming “Unexpected Beauty” exhibition. Submissions are due June 24.
The newsletter also includes summer event highlights, City Council meeting dates, open city roles, cooling center information, and resources for starting a business in Citrus Heights.
