Community Blood Drive • Give Blood Help Save Lives
The City of Citrus Heights and Vitalant are hosting a Community Blood Drive on Tuesday, September 15 from 11:00 PM – 3:00 PM at City Hall.
The City of Citrus Heights and Vitalant are hosting a community blood drive at City Hall, giving residents an opportunity to donate whole blood or Power Red and help support patients who depend on a reliable regional blood supply.
The full donation visit typically takes about one hour, while the actual blood donation usually takes about 10 minutes. Donors are encouraged to eat a hearty meal, drink plenty of water, bring a photo ID, and arrive feeling healthy and ready to donate.
🚑 Appointments are encouraged, and walk-ins will be accommodated when space allows. Vitalant can also answer eligibility questions before your visit.
An hour of your time can make a meaningful difference for patients in need — and the blood drive offers a simple way to give back through direct community action.

Power RED
A Power Red donation is a specialized automated blood procedure (apheresis) where you safely give two units of red blood cells during one visit. An automated machine collects your red cells, returns your plasma and platelets, and gives you a saline solution for hydration. It takes about 30 minutes longer than a standard whole blood donation.
