Free monthly STEM program where kids learn robotics, coding, and teamwork through hands-on LEGO building projects in Orangevale
Orangevale Library is hosting a hands-on STEAM robotics workshop where kids ages 9 to 14 can explore building, coding, and creative problem-solving in a group setting.
Led by student instructors, participants will work together to design, build, and program a robot while developing practical STEM skills, teamwork, and confidence through play-based learning.
It is a fun, low-pressure way for young learners to try robotics, practice engineering thinking, and experience the library as a place for discovery, creativity, and community learning.

The Orangevale Library, part of the Sacramento Public Library system, is located at 8820 Greenback Lane, Suite L, Orangevale, CA 95662. Serving as a true community hub, it offers a wide range of resources, technology, and programs for residents of all ages.
Key Features & History
- First established in 1912; at the current Greenback Lane location since 2001.
- Underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2021, nearly doubling in size from 4,320 to 7,910 square feet.
- Added spaces include:
- Dedicated rooms for children and teens
- Two new study rooms
- A flexible community room
- Features an in-house Seed Library offering free vegetable and flower seeds to the public.

- Collections: Books, eBooks, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, and magazines.
- Technology: Public computers, word processors, and free high-speed gigabit internet.
