- Hurricane Imelda is on track to pass very near Bermuda late today. It’s been battling Hurricane Humberto for supremacy. The hurricanes were as close together as any you’ll ever see. Now, Humberto is being absorbed into a front north of Imelda, so by later today, it won’t be a factor.
- The National Weather Service Office in Pueblo, Colorado, says it was able to confirm a tornado struck Sawtooth Mountain outside of Boulder by using satellite imagery. The tornado is believed to have developed at an elevation of around 111,300 ft, making it the fourth-highest elevation tornado in Colorado.
- The peak of the Atlantic basin hurricane season is nearing its end with the U.S. escaping major impacts from tropical cyclones.
- A rare meteorological phenomenon is expected to develop Wednesday as Hurricane Imelda moves over Bermuda, and the result could be extreme winds that can cause extensive damage.

- Tropical Storm Imelda is not going to make landfall in the southeastern U.S. as some early models indicated, and its sharp right turn out into the Atlantic is thanks to big influences by the much more powerful Hurricane Humberto.
- The National Hurricane Center is warning people along the East Coast of the U.S. about life-threatening rip currents this week, which are being produced by swells from both Hurricane Humberto and Hurricane Imelda churning nearby in the Atlantic.
- The center of Tropical Storm Imelda is just passing the northwestern Bahamas. It will proceed north, well offshore of the Florida coast through the day today. Outer bands will cause some gusty downpours along the coast. Boating conditions continue to be dangerous offshore.
