Fair Oaks Library Ohana Dance Group

Celebrate the end of summer — but not the end of reading — with a special performance by Ohana Dance Group at Fair Oaks Library. The library’s annual Summer Reading Closeout invites children, teens, adults, and families to gather for an afternoon performance bringing the movement, music, and traditions of Hawaiian hula into the library.

Sacramento-based Ohana Dance Group is a nonprofit, multi-generational Hawaiian culture and hula organization whose work centers on sharing the stories and traditions of the Hawaiian Islands through dance. Its students learn about Hawaiian culture, music, language, and the meaning behind the movements of hula, making the performance an opportunity to enjoy both the artistry and cultural storytelling behind the dance.
