Slow down with the season during a guided herb walk at American River Ranch, featuring medicinal plant identification, traditional herbal stories, ethical foraging tips, and seasonal tea.
Join a guided herb walk, talk, and tea at American River Ranch and explore the farm’s fields and hedgerows while learning to recognize plants growing throughout the landscape. The walk will highlight native and medicinal plants such as elderberry, yarrow, mugwort, and yerba santa, with discussion of their traditional uses and identifying characteristics.
Along the way, participants will also learn about ethical foraging practices, respectful harvesting, and ways people have historically worked with local herbs. The experience concludes with time to gather, ask questions, and enjoy herbal tea in the relaxed setting of American River Ranch.
