Adult Book Group β’ The Salt Stones
A welcoming monthly book discussion with thoughtful conversation and community connection
This month, the Sylvan Oaks Library book group will be discussing The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny: A Novel by Kiran Desai β a sweeping literary novel about love, family, migration, and identity across India and America. Following Sonia and Sunny as their lives intersect, separate, and circle back across continents and years, the story explores loneliness, belonging, cultural expectation, and the search for personal meaning in a changing world. Rich, expansive, and deeply reflective, the book offers plenty of room for thoughtful conversation about connection, inheritance, and the complicated forces that shape our lives.
Whether youβre a longtime mystery and literary fiction fan or just discovering the genre, new participants are always welcome. Come share your thoughts, hear different perspectives, and connect with other readers in a relaxed and friendly setting.
