Harmful RFI from Edgewood HOA Camera System – Public Safety Hazard

I am reporting ongoing radio-frequency interference (RFI) originating from the Edgewood HOA security camera system located at the clubhouse and RV parking area on Spyglass Lane. When the system is powered, interference is immediate and persistent; when power is removed, the interference ceases. This has been verified repeatedly with spectrum analysis and on/off correlation testing.
The RFI degrades cellular service (dropped/failed calls and texts), disrupts Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and causes noticeable noise across multiple bands affecting everyday communications. Of greatest concern, the emissions pose a potential hazard to public-safety communications (police, fire, EMS) and may affect nearby medical devices. The interference pattern is broadband and structural; metal conduit, fencing, and cabling appear to be acting as unintended radiators. Equipment on site includes PoE networking gear and point-to-point antennas associated with the camera system.
I have made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly with the HOA board and the installer, but cooperation has not been forthcoming. A police report has been filed documenting the safety concerns and the HOA’s refusal to remediate. The interference continues and has recently been re-enabled, restoring the harmful conditions.
This appears to be an unauthorized or non-compliant unintentional radiator causing harmful interference, in violation of FCC rules. Given the public-safety implications and the demonstrated on/off correlation, I respectfully request that the FCC:
- Open an investigation and direct the operator to cease operation pending compliance.
- Coordinate with local authorities to assess risk to public-safety communications.
- Require technical remediation and verification testing to ensure emissions are brought into compliance, with appropriate enforcement action if necessary.
