WARNING - we are all in trouble...

You know that uncomfortable feeling you currently have about what's going on around you? The gut feeling that has you worried but you can't specifically put your finger on exactly what is wrong? Well, your instincts are right.

Many of you don't know me because I spend a good bit of time in Colorado on my little ranch in the mountains. Just us, the pine trees, the deer and the occasional bear or two. Out here residents prepare for harsh winters - sometimes we are snowed in for over a week so we have plenty of food and necessities stored just in case. I am suggesting you do the same at your home in Edgewood.

While you won't experience four feet of snow overnight there, storm clouds in society are moving in. Financial markets are indicating a potential crash. Gold, an indicator of economic conditions, has been climbing over the last few months and is now over $4,000/oz. Last trip to Edgewood I sold real estate and moved that money into precious metals and now the housing market is dropping. (It is not too late to buy some gold and silver coins for yourself by the way)

But the threat of war is also near which directly affects the general economy. The social upset index is increasing and unrest is following. If you already know that banks can take your deposited money during financial chaos (bank bail-in) that is good that you are aware. People in Cypress lost most everything when this happened in 2013. It will happen here. Keep as much cash out of the bank as possible. Cash in hand is preferable to ones and zeroes online.

So what the heck am I exactly trying to say? Be prepared for possible financial and social chaos during the next sixty days. It doesn't hurt to buy extra shelf stable foods to have on hand at your home. in financial chaos banks can close their doors. Truckers not getting paid means no more store deliveries. Most people have less than three days of food in their pantry. No store deliveries and shelves are empty in days.

A retired Army general sent me an email and informed me that readiness levels have been escalated. He mentioned that a possible attack on our power grid is possible soon. (Not all those 25 million+ illegal immigrants were looking for a better life...some were possibly sent here to blend in but be on standby for infrastructure sabotage. Guess that's possible.)

In any event, a number of negative possibilities are on the horizon. Stocking up on food and water just in case is a great idea. You can use that food anytime if all remains calm. You will not believe how much stress is released as you but that extra food away. Even a big bag of rice and one of beans as well is cheap insurance.

Water is even more important than food. A personal water filter is a good idea.

So if you read this far you may be snickering or even laughing. That's ok. For the rest of you, I hope this helps encourage you to take action to prepare. I retired at age forty because I have been right about a lot of things in my life (but not every time). This time the percentage of a near term disruption is over 80%.

Get to know your neighbors. Be willing to share. Get off your couch and take a little drive to Walmart or Winco. Buy some food and water supplies. Hit the camping aisle in Walmart and buy a water filter.

Out here our two thousand gallon water cistern is full, our shipping container has bags of rice, beans, lentils, etc. and cases of emergency foods like soups, chili, spaghetti, etc.

I won't go into self defense but it is something to think about.

Good luck!

And feel free to ask questions. We all need to stick together. (Not literally!)
